Two Big Milestones

At some point, I'm going to get back to updating the blog regularly -- but for now - just a few updates.

Maddie's cord fell off yesterday! Leaving behind a cute little belly button. So we decided to give her a real bath while Daddy was home with us - a first for all of us! She enjoyed the real thing much more than the sponge baths we've been giving her. This made Mommy and Daddy really happy. We were worried that bath time was going to be an unhappy time in Maddie's day - but she seemed to enjoy it! We even video taped the event. Will post the footage at a later time!

Sadly, Daddy left for his first long trip this morning. It was definitely hard on all of us to say goodbye. He'll be gone for two weeks and Maddie, Annie and I will definitely miss him. We're hoping that time will fly by - we're all going to be busy over the next two weeks. Daddy will be busy in Savannah with work, and Maddie and I will be visiting with family in NJ. It will be hard to be there without him - but we will be thinking about him every minute. There's no doubt that Madeline will miss him - she loves her Daddy very much. She likes to wake him up in the middle of the night to play with him for a little bit before going back to sleep. And she definitely prefers it when he changes her diaper - she cries when anyone else attempts it - even me. And they both love to take naps together - she doesn't even mind Daddy's snoring - it actually seems to be more like a lullaby to Maddie. And Mommy is going to miss him too. He takes good care of me and is such a big help. So hopefully the next 2 weeks will go by quickly and Daddy will be home before we know it!

An Early Father's Day Gift

On Tuesday, we went back to see the fabulous photographer, Laura Brett to have her take some photos of Madeline and Daddy. It was my Father's Day gift to Mike, and a little something for him to take with him on the road when he's traveling and not here with his baby girl. I promise to update the blog soon - we've all been busy adjusting to life as a family of four. But I promise to update you on Miss Maddie soon. She's doing fabulous! Even letting Mommy and Daddy get some sleep at night. She's just precious! More than we could ever ask for.
