A Prima Ballerina

Why is it that on days like this - when you know you have something extra special to do - you can never prepare enough??  I laid out her clothes, left work early, packed extra snacks, charged the camera battery, and made sure the memory card has enough space for as many pictures and videos as I wanted to take.  And yet, I pull up to her school to pick her up and realize that I'm out of gas and I left her snack bag (the one I put extra snacks in) in the fridge at work. Luckily - everything worked out and we made it to Maddie's dance class in time.

Some pictures from our evening...

Before class - totally unprompted/uncoerced into posing.... (this is also the pose she struck whenever we were introducing ourselves to the other students and their parents).

Meeting our teacher and finding our spot on the dance floor.

Waiting on class to get started...

This is looking through the observation window.  Notice how Maddie is the only student standing?  Yeah, she totally got caught up in her reflection in the mirror.  She was in her own world for a few minutes there.

After class - she told me that she was a rockstar (thank you to the Fresh Beat Band for that!). AND that she asked the teacher and the teacher said that she could go on stage (at the recital)!

Friends from class, Alana (our next door neighbor, Maddie, Scarlet, and Bella).

We celebrated afterwards with dinner at McAllistair's (more on that later).  Tonight, before bed I asked her if she had a good time and she said " Yes - I did! It was so, so great!"  And it was.
