The long awaited ultrasound photos are here! I'm going to try and describe/explain the photos to you:
This first one is actually quite funny. It serves as pre-birth evidence that our child may take after Mike more so than me - even at this point. The Dr. - Pat - kept trying to zoom in on the baby and get a good photo, but the baby kept moving around too quickly. So when they snapped this picture all they got was one leg - and it's bent at the knee. So in the middle of the black area above you can see the thigh, the bent knee and then the leg. Little bugger just wouldn't sit still!

This one is my favorite. It's a side profile shot of the baby - almost as if Baby M is laying horizontal. From left to right, you can see the baby's head, little torso and the leg (which is bent and pulled in). In the middle of his chest we could see Baby M's heart beating fast and furious.

This shot is off the backside of the baby (see that large butt - that's proof that the baby is part mine too). You can see the back of the baby's head and the baby's back. You can actually see the baby's spine as well. In fact, when they were doing the ultrasound, I could see each little vertebrae and then see them move as the baby moved - it was amazing!!
So that's the sneak peak at Baby M! The next set of polaroids will tell us if we are going to have a baby girl or a baby boy. And according to the results of our gender poll thus far, Mike may need to stock up on some Tums. I keep telling him that a girl would be a great way for God to pay him back for - well, for many things - like taking a year to call me back after our first date. All kidding aside, I can't wait to see Mike as a Dad. I'm going to need to invest in a video camera to keep you all updated on his antics once the baby gets here.
