So I **think** that I may have felt the baby move last night and then a couple of times today. My books all say and I've also been told that the first movements might feel like stomach flutters/butterflies, or popcorn popping (only in your belly). Last night I had two of my girlfriends over. We ordered take out and rented a chick flick. In the middle of the movie, my stomach started feeling weird - kindof like the feeling you get with a nervous stomach - only I wasn't nervous. More like butterflies in your stomach - only the butterflies were moving. I didn't say anything to the girls because I honestly didn't believe or know what was going on. Then today sitting at my desk my stomach "rolled," kindof like the feeling you get riding a big roller coaster - only my feet were firmly planted on the ground.
Here is the really cute part of the story. Mike called earlier and I was telling him all about the baby's newest trick, and it happened again. This time it felt like popcorn popping! And it happened three times in a row. Coincidence? I think not. I think Baby M was sending a shout out to Daddy.
Now, it's only fair to inform you that the books also say that early movement and gas bubbles can be easily confused. So there is some room here for error on my part, but then again I think we've already established that the authors of these books aren't always accurate either (see the post below titled "16 Weeks & 4 Days"). I'll keep you posted.
